Emily has over 16 years of experience in the financial services industry and has been practicing as an advisor since 2010, with a focus on developing long-term, personal relationships with her clients. She works closely with individuals and families facing life transitions with a specific focus on financial and extended care planning.

Emily grew up in Charlotte and is a graduate of Charlotte Country Day School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication and a minor in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Emily holds the Series 7, 63 and 65 securities registrations, North Carolina Life & Health and Long-Term Care licenses and is Certified in Long-Term Care (CLTC®).

Prior to Carroll Financial, Emily worked for Bank of America, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Morgan Keegan and Raymond James.  Emily helped co-host the 2015 and 2016 seasons of Common Sense Retirement with Kris Carroll on Charlotte’s News Talk 1110 WBT and contributed to 107.9 The Link’s weekly podcast HER Money with Sheri Lynch and Kris Carroll.

She is a member of the national chapter of Women In Insurance & Financial Services and serves on the board of Speakeasy Charlotte.  Emily is also an Affiliate Member of the American Heart Associations’ Go Red for Women Executive Leadership Team and volunteers with a number of community organizations, including Safe Alliance and the Clyde and Ethel Dickson Domestic Violence Shelter. Emily and her husband Jonathan live in Dilworth where you might find them walking, playing tennis or working in their yard.
