Kelly Graves is a North Carolina native and Executive Vice President at Carroll Financial. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Duke University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to entering the masters program at UNC, Kelly spent three years with Bank of America. After earning an MBA, he was employed by Accenture.
Kelly received his Certified Financial Planner™ designation in 1985. He is past President of the Carolina’s Chapter of the Financial Planning Association and was elected to the National Board of the FPA in 1990. He was the ninth person in North Carolina admitted to the Registry of Financial Planning Practitioners. He is also a registered representative with Cetera Advisor Networks LLC.
He has been named on Barron’s annual list of “The Top 1,200 Advisers” in the country since 2009, helping investors navigate through an age of unprecedented financial uncertainty. Barron’s Editor, Edwin A. Finn, Jr., called their list “the best people in the financial business.” The Barron articles include a state-by-state ranking based on each advisor’s assets managed, the quality of their practice, and their regulatory record. For 2020, Kelly was ranked #5 in North Carolina. Kelly has been quoted by The Washington Post, The Charlotte Observer, Financial World Magazine, Charlotte Magazine, The Business Journal, Mecklenburg Times, CBS Radio News, and he has appeared several times on WSOC-TV to discuss financial planning.
